Any recommendations on cheap accommodation in Merzine (France) skiing resort or close to it?

a group of us (around 6 couples) are planing to drive to Merzine for Christmas period skiing holiday, just found out that accommodation costs are over budget to some of us. can you suggest any alternatives in cheaper accommodation or skiing resort, websites offering self catering accommodation? big chalet suitable for 6 couples would be ideal. maybe something not too far away from Merzine (we can drive to lifts within reasonable distance of 10 – 20km (5 – 15 miles) perhaps) thank you in advance!!!

Try the Youth Hostel Association to find the nearest one. They are always clean, comfortable and welcoming and of course, reasonably priced.
