First Time Skiier………?

Planning a Skiing holiday for next year with a group of friends. Its all our first times. Looking to go somewhere in Europe .. whats the best type of place to stay in a hotel of a Chalet? Any recommendations would be great

My preference when skiing with a group is to get a chalet, condo, townhouse, whatever. You then all have your own bedrooms, though there will probably be some sharing of bath facilities within the unit not each bedroom will have its own bath but they might, as well as a central socializing area without having to hang out in a hotel lobby or bar.

In 2007 when we skied Verbier, we stayed at the Antika chalet. They had housekeepers (live out) who came every morning, made breakfast and cleaned and later came back and prepared apres ski hors d’oeuvres and dinner. Great trip. There are many places like this in Europe.

If this is a first timer trip, you probably won’t be disappointed with any particular area. I’d have to say my favorite is St. Anton, Austria. Great night life there but I was a lot younger then! Now, after a hard day of skiing, I’m lucky if I can make it past 9 pm!
